Since 2020, Transbay Coalition works to create a broad grassroots movement for equitable, sustainable public & active transportation. We collaborate across decentralized, locally-led campaigns united in our shared goals and values.

The Bay Area’s transportation options can be sustainable, abundant and affordable. That will take a lot of community leaders winning a lot of changes. Winning Funding for Bay Area Transit

Transit abundance depends on funding. Transbay Coalition organizes to grow the transit funding pie through increased federal, state, regional, and local funding.

BART Station for Oakland’s San Antonio Neighborhood

14th Avenue in East Oakland sits in the middle of the longest stretch of BART track in Oakland without a station - nearly 3 miles! Our community continues to grow, and we have an increasing need for safe, reliable, efficient, and accessible transit options that will connect us to the rest of the region. SASA is a group of citizens actively engaged in the effort to prioritize, fund, and build a station at 14th Avenue.

Stop Highway 101 & 280 Widening

Highway widening is a waste of money as it doesn't reduce congestion. It increases traffic, potholes, air pollution, climate change, and competition for public transit. Instead of widening highways 101 & 280, governments should spend taxpayer dollars on filling potholes, making our streets safer, and making public transit more convenient, cleaner, safer, and affordable.
