Share your feedback on regional measure spending in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties

Transit riders have opportunities in April and May to give feedback on the local expenditure plans for Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties as part of the regional transit funding measure. Please speak up to use the funds to improve transit service for riders – read on for specific steps you can take.

Speak up in Santa Clara County

VTA is talking about excellent, rider-friendly strategies discussed include major service increases with the Visionary Network to bring service up to par with other metros and other parts of the Bay; transit priority to make buses faster and more reliable, and other improvements to the customer experience

On the evening of April 9, VTA is hosting an in-person meeting at the Bascom Community Center, 1000 S. Bascom Ave 5:30-6:45pm.  RSVP Here!

VTA’s next board workshop, discussing the future of the service to shape the expenditure plan, will be April 17 – please stay tuned for opportunities to share your thoughts.

Speak up in San Mateo County – SamTrans survey by April 30, City Council meetings

SamTrans has a new survey getting feedback on the local investment plan for $50 million in funding for transit in San Mateo County.  The deadline for the survey is April 30. SamTrans is asking about some good ideas, including making bus service more efficient, faster and more reliable, to expand service to underserved communities, and to fund SamTrans’ good plan to improve bus stops.

However, the SamTrans survey does not mention making service more frequent – which is very important for riders – and does not talk about improving connections to Caltrain, BART and across the bay. These are good suggestions to add in the open “Comments/Questions” section of the survey.

Also, cities and the County board of Supervisors will be weighing in – if you can, please join your City Council meeting in person or on Zoom.
